Music Testimonials & Reviews

My husband and I recently hosted a gathering of neighbors in our backyard with musical entertainment provided by Gayle Wilson and George Rubaloff.  What a magical evening!  Gayle and George are talented, creative and engaging. And it's obvious how much they love music and entertaining.  With their harmonious voices and two slightly unique instruments, they took us on a lively musical journey around the globe and back in time.  The spell they cast is due in part to the enticing mixture of songs they perform.  Everyone loved their interpretation of the familiar songs from the '20's, '30's and '40's.  But equally enjoyable were the quirky, clever tunes previously unknown to the audience, and the foreign tunes that transported us from Backyard, USA to a sidewalk café in France, a fountain in an Italian piazza or an outlaw hideaway in the mountains of old Mexico.
Whatever your event, we highly recommend the music of this duo to make it memorable.Gayle Wilson

"We arranged a gathering of relatives and friends this summer to celebrate our mother's birthday.  We hired a caterer for the event of 25 people and we also hired The Gayle Wilson Trio. They arrived early and stayed longer than expected. We had requested tunes from the 1940's and 1950's and they provided just that along with any requests from those who wished specific songs be played.  She has a three-piece band and their music is absolutely wonderful and their harmony is awesome.  Gayle is an extremely professional performer and singer, beyond our expectations.  All of our guests and ourselves would highly recommend her band for any event where folks might want high quality musical entertainment.

"Gayle Wilson’s Dance Band is the best!  Her band has been playing for the Rogue Valley Manor Dinner Dances for the past 7 years and we would not trade bands for anything.  The band plays such danceable music that’s enhanced by Gayle’s beautiful voice. The variety of music is amazing, the big band sound, rock & roll, swing, tango and many others. They will take requests and if they are not familiar with the request, will learn it and play it next time. As Gayle says, “we aim to please”. Gayle is so easy to work with and I have nothing but praise for her and her band. They are all excellent musicians.”

"What a blast to take in this amazing review of the Blues Divas of the 1920's! I was spellbound by the energy, savvy, sexiness and humor of these women -- both the '20s women AND Jade and Gayle today as they alternately sang sweetly about love and then would belt out songs of lust and love, so funny, rich and good!!!  This era was a huge, historic turning point in music, the first time women composed and cut their own records and sang them to black and white audiences, with white listeners barely prepared to be set back on their heels in amazement.  This was the sound track to a crazy decade, similar to the Sixties, when the whole country emerged from boring decades of good behavior and went wild with the delights of life."

"We wanted to treat our family to something special at our recent Family Reunion and filled the bill with Gayle & her Band.  It's almost two months later and they are still talking about how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed the music and entertainment.  The Band fit right in like they were part of the family!  We are so glad they are a part of our memories."

"I asked the "The Gayle Wilson Band" to come perform for a group of Shriners in a scenic outdoor area in Fort Klamath Oregon in summer, 2015, and was wonderfully surprised at how well they played to the crowd.  These Shriners had a wide variety of music tastes and the band successful found the music niche that appealed to everyone.   Gayle has a wonderful personality and beautiful voice.  She can play a wide variety of music and entertain most any group of listeners.  I highly recommend The Gayle Wilson Band to anyone wanting a high quality performance and entertainment at group functions."

Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Convention - August 2009
"The talented Gayle Wilson and her band provided a refreshing performance at our Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Convention held recently in Medford.  Not only were her music selections and renditions of 50-60-70’s hits excellent and enjoyed by all, but every step from contact to contract negotiations to the performance itself was handled in a truly comfortable and professional manner.  Gayle is a talented and gracious performer and we are pleased to recommend Gayle to perform at any function."

Sincerely, Claudell King, Lt. Governor PNW Kiwanis, Co-chair of the 92nd Annual PNW Convention. 541-474-2121

Dear Gayle,
"We need to thank you for the fantastic performance and music that you and your fellow musicians provided for our Rotary Christmas party.  I simply had no idea how talented your group was or that individually you had such a wonderful voice.  It was a great evening and we were fortunate that we selected you (and that you were available!) to provide our music.
I really don’t know what to say other than thanks.  In large measure to you and your group our Christmas party was a great success!"  (Underlining & italics his)

"Gayle, you just knock me out! The way you front the band, your connection to the audience, how you treat the material, your preparation, your style and grace, your confidence... Masterful! Some people are born with talent but it's the people that do the footwork and present that talent with precision, maximizing all aspects of the material and energizing the artists around them, presenting to the audience not just a well rehearsed show, but a gift. I'm truly inspired.  Thanks."

Dear Gayle,
"What a treat!  Count us in your growing fan club!  I found myself basking in the intricate weave of your vocals mixing with the complex and enchanting arrangements.  How do you do it all?  We've been telling everyone we know about the show.  I hope you have a great run.  Thanks for the gift of your Karen Carpenter Musical Spotlight to the community."

“The Gayle Wilson Band is fantastic. I always wanted a live band at my wedding and they exceeded my expectations. They rocked the stage! All my guests were very impressed and commented on how entertaining they were. Gayle accommodated my specific song requests and kept the dance floor hopping with the classics, swing, line dancing and good ol' rock'n roll! If you want to have a good dance party, Gayle's band is the best!”
Rachel Fairbanks,

"Norie and I thoroughly enjoyed your performance on Karen Carpenter.  Norie and I thought it was the best spotlight you've done. We both have listened to a lot of Karen Carpenter on satellite radio and were curious to her story so researched it and learned a lot about her and her brother...a tragic story for sure.  We both just wanted to say "very well done" to you and the whole cast of people that made it possible.  Brian O'Connor was the perfect narrator and Dal did a great job putting it all together...  Thanks, and we hope you have some great holidays!"

"Hello, Good Morning and Congratulations Gayle.
Last night's performance of "Girl Singers of the Big Band Era" at Camelot Theatre was M A R V E L O U S. The arrangements and direction by Dal Carver, plus the selection of the songs and performance of the musicians, was completely entertaining.  David Gabriel proved to be the perfect narrator with facts, vocal accompaniment, and just the correct amount of humor.  The research of facts about all the singers must have been a daunting job for someone.  Your vocalization and presentation made the musical 'too marvelous for words'."

Thank You. Terry Schultz
